It all starts here

There are four possible scenarios if you want to (un)link Google Ads accounts, and you'll find instructions for each of them on this page.

  • You're the first (and possibly only) user within TrueClicks and no accounts have been linked yet.

  • You want to link more accounts than you currently see on the All accounts page, from an existing linked Google Ads login.

  • You want to link accounts from a Google Ads login that isn't yet linked to TrueClicks.

  • You want to unlink Google Ads accounts from TrueClicks.

You're the first (and possibly only) user within TrueClicks and no accounts have been linked yet.

Before TrueClicks can analyze your account(s), you'll need to authorize us to access your Google Ads account(s), so we can analyze the data.

Please note that we currently do not make direct changes to your Google Ads campaigns (so it's reporting only) and that access can be revoked at any time, either in TrueClicks itself or on Google's Apps with access to your account page

However, revoking these permissions will make it impossible for TrueClicks to provide its functionality.

If no Google Ads logins have authorized TrueClicks yet, the Link accounts page will redirect you to the Manage Logins page, where you can click on the Add Google Ads login button:

Clicking this button will open a pop-up to sign in with the Google account you use to login to Google Ads:

Once you've logged in, you'll see the following screen on which you'll have to click the Allow button for TrueClicks to access your data.

Please note that it says Manage your AdWords campaigns, but TrueClicks currently does not manage campaigns, but only audits and monitors them.

Once you've clicked Allow, you'll see the Google Ads account(s) you have access to in TrueClicks and can simply select the ones you want us to audit and monitor.

You want to link more accounts than you currently see on the All accounts page, from an existing linked Google Ads login.

In this case, you or someone from your team has already linked at least one Google Ads login to TrueClicks, but not necessarily all corresponding accounts.

To link more accounts from (an) existing login(s), simply go to the Link Accounts page.

Please note that if you don't have account management rights (which enable you to (un)link Google Ads accounts), the following message will show:

If you get this message, please reach out to one of the team members listed in this message (blurred above) and he or she will be able to (un)link the desired accounts and/or to give you account linking permissions.

On the Link accounts page, you'll find an overview of currently linked accounts, the option to (un)link accounts by directly selecting them or searching by account name or customer ID:

You want to link accounts from a Google Ads login that isn't yet linked to TrueClicks.

If the account you want to link to TrueClicks isn't visible under (one of) the login(s) above the Manage Logins link, click on the Manage Logins link to add a new Google Ads login:

Once you've authorized TrueClicks access to this account (as shown above), it will show up as one of the logins on the Link Accounts page and you'll be able to select the accounts you want to link.

You want to unlink Google Ads accounts from TrueClicks.

If you have the right permissions (see above if you don't), this is a simple matter of going to the Link Accounts page and deselecting the accounts you no longer want TrueClicks to audit and monitor.
Click Save Changes when you're done and the accounts will be unlinked from TrueClicks.
