Enable checks that are relevant for your account

As mentioned in the introduction of custom attributes, the last section lets you enable/disable certain checks:


You can click on the question mark❔ tooltip next to each question for more information, which you'll also find below.

Enable asset checks that are relevant to this account

  • Check for call assets: activate this check if this business values phone calls.

  • Check for structured snippet assets: activate this check if this business can use one of the available headers from structured snippets.

  • Check for promotion assets: activate this check if this business is currently running promotions.

  • Check for price assets: activate this check if it makes sense for this business to show up to 8 prices beneath text ads.

  • Check for image assets: activate this check if the account meets the requirements for image assets.

  • Check for app assets: activate this check if this business has an Android and/or iOS app.

Optimization Score

  • Flag a too low Optimization Score: activate this check if you want the Optimization Score of this account to be above a certain value.

  • Minimum required value for Optimization Score: select the minimum Optimization Score you’d like this account to achieve. The default value is 70%.

RSA Ad Strength

  • Flag RSAs with a “Poor” Ad Strength: activate this check if you care about all RSAs having an Average or higher Ad Strength.

  • Also flag RSAs with an “Average” Ad Strength: Answer “yes” if you want to raise the bar for Ad Strength to “Good” or “Excellent” for all RSAs.

RSAs per ad group

  • Flag ad groups that don’t meet your required number of active RSAs: Activate this check if you care about search ad groups having a specific number (or range) of active RSAs.

  • Required minimum number of responsive search ads per ad group: Select the minimum number of RSAs per ad group or keep empty if you don't want to set a minimum.

  • Required maximum number of responsive search ads per ad group: Select the maximum number of RSAs per ad group or keep empty if you don't want to set a maximum.

Ad Variations

  • Check for recent ad variations: Activate this check if you want to test text ads with ad variations. This is highly recommended for accounts with > 3,000 monthly text ad clicks.

Unwanted Content

  • Check for unwanted content in text ads (customize below): Do you want to check for unwanted content in ads?

  • Check for unwanted content in assets (customize below): Do you want to check for unwanted content in assets?

  • Unwanted ads & assets content: If there are any words or numbers you (temporarily) don’t want to appear in active ads & assets in this account, please enter them here. You can enter multiple words by separating them by commas or by entering a new word on every line.

Auto-Tagging

  • Check if auto-tagging is turned on: Activate this check if the advertiser's website uses Google Analytics and if auto-tagging has been tested to work properly on the website.

Eligible (Limited) Ads

  • Flag ads with an "Eligible (limited)" status: Activate this check if the advertiser's ads should not be restricted in any way. If the advertiser is active in a regulated industry such as alcohol, gambling, or healthcare, it's best to keep this check inactive.

  • Policy reasons (topics) to ignore for "Eligible (limited)" ads: If you want to ignore specific reasons why ads have a "limited" status (such as "TRADEMARKS_IN_AD_TEXT"), enter them here (comma-separated).

Campaigns Targeting All Countries and Territories

  • Flag campaigns that are targeting All countries and territories: Activate this check if you don't want campaigns to (accidentally) target the whole world.

  • Allow campaigns to target All countries and territories: If campaign(s) is/are supposed to target the whole world, please enter the unique part of their campaign name so we can ignore them from this check.

Conversion Value Tracking

  • Check if the average value per conversion is at least 10: Activate this check if the average value per conversion of this account should be at least 10 (last 30 days).

Active ETA

  • Flag campaigns that are running ETAs: Activate this check if you want to make sure that no expanded text ads are running in this account.

Auto-Applied Recommendations

  • Check if "Automatically apply recommendations" is turned off: Activate this check if you don't want to automatically apply Google recommendations to this account.


Now that you've answered all the questions above, you can quickly edit custom attributes for multiple accounts at a time using the 'Bulk Edit' feature.
